Happy Father's Day

A quick post to say a Happy father's Day to Dads everywhere. I hope you have all had a relaxing day even if the weather is not good. Who would have believed that this time last week I was at a barbecue getting sunburnt and today I am snuggled with a duvet and the fire on.

No card today.
I have been busy updating my CV. It's a job that I hate but I know that if I don't do it then it becomes unmanageable. Nearly bone now though so should be back to card making very soon.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Here come the girls

Good Evening Everyone

Hope you all had a good weekend and saw some sunshine. It has been glorious here in Devon. Not had much time for sitting out in the garden though because its back to work tomorrow after the half term break.

Here is today's card. I made it for a friends daughter who is a proper 'girly girl' and is just turning 21. I don't think I could get anymore pink on the card.

I used an 8 x 8 card which is larger than the card size that I normally use and a digital image from Mo Manning. I coloured the image using every pink shade of copic pen that I own. The papers, ribbon and gems are from my stash. Once again I have added faux stitching around the edges of the layers of patterned paper. The birthday messages have been printed on 2 tags made with sizzix dies.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:-

Allsorts - here come the girls - 6.6.13
A little Bit crafty - Something Sweet - 28.6.13
My Mums craft shop - Dies (sizzix tags) - 29.6.13

Have a good evening

Warm weather .......at last!

Good Evening Everyone

I can't believe that we are now having some warm weather ...at last. It's so nice to look out of the windows and see blossom and to hear the lambs bleating in the fields instead of ice and slush. It's also amazing how many 'friends and family' come and stay since we moved to Devon. We love showing off our home and garden...our little bit of Paradise.

It's been a very busy few weeks for both me and Graham with work and life taking over everything. I did manage to spend a few minutes in my craft room today to make a Fathers day card.

I used the new stamps from LOTV - Vintage Boys and coloured the image using my copic pens. The papers and buttons were from my stash and I finished each of the layers with faux stitching.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:-

Cards for Men - Dad - 9.6.13

Back in Blogland...

Good Evening everyone

I can't believe how long it has been since I last posted. I have been having lots of problems with my laptop over the last few months. It seemed to begin with me not being able to open any PDF files and from there on it just became worse and worse until finally it just died on me. I met a very nice man in our local computer shop who has worked miracles and now I am finally able to access Blogland again.

Here is my card for today:

This card has been made using one of the pre-stamped images available from LOTV They come in a little sketch pad and are ideal for colouring with copic pens. The good news is that the images of the Vintage Boys will soon be available as a stamp. Visit their website to find more details.

Have a good evening

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

snow....again.....

Good evening everyone

I hope that you have had a great easter and that the easter bunny bought you lots of choccies.

We had some very welcome visitors over the weekend. Gary, my eldest son, brought his wife and children to visit. Eva is learning to crawl at the moment. She is able to assume the position but hasn't quite got the method right. It looks like she is doing press-ups. Bless, she is so cute.

We decided to take the whole family to Lyme Regis, so that the girls could go fossil hunting. I cant believe just how cold it was, but there is nothing like eating chips on the sea front whilst wrapped up in hats, scarves and gloves.

I can't believe that it's snowing yet again. We have had a few days of sunny (but bitter) weather and then this morning I opened the curtains to reveal snow flurries. This has continued on and off throughout the day but there has not been enough to settle.

Here is today's card:

I have used a 'free' stamp that came attached to the front of a magazine and stamped it onto white card that i have 'aged' with a very old and dry ink pad. The image has been mounted on several layers of patterned paper and card from my stash. Cogs are die cuts and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards. I finished the card with blue brads.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Days like these are great....

Good Evening Everyone

What an interesting day!

We began with loads of good intentions. Getiing out into the garden and doing a bit of tidying up, washing and ironing ready for next week at work and making a special Sunday dinner as Graham is back from his trip to Italy. Unfortunately, we had a power cut that lasted for almost 4 hours and so all our plans were put away and we sat on the sofa with a roaring fire, a duvet and just chatted. Days like this are great! It's a pity that I am back at work tomorrow.

You will be pleased that today's card is not a 'Wonky Photo' because Graham is back on photo duty.

I have used a very old Magnolia stamp that I have coloured using my copics pens and then mounted it onto layers of paper and card from my stash. I have finished it off with a blue bow and peach coloured butterflies made with Nellie Snellen 'Punch and Emboss' punches.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Send a smile 4 Kids - Anything Goes - 4.4.13
Simply create too - Easter - 28.3.13

Card outlet ?????

Good Morning Everyone

Just a quick post this morning to ask if anyone knows of a 'cheap' but 'effective' outlet for selling handcrafted cards. I have regularly put my 'makes' onto e-bay and I currently have an etsy shop but I have found that both of these sites are not really very good at selling the items. I seem to have loads of visitors and watchers but sales are very limited. I am seriously considering closing my Etsy shop as it is costing too much to keep it open. I am going to visit my local market this morning to see if this is an alternative outlet so fingers crossed.

Does anyone in blogland have a good idea for selling my cards?

Thank you for any help

Huge Hugs

..... everything's green

Good evening everyone.

The weather today has been lovely here in Devon. I even managed to have the windows open for most of the morning. Pusskat thought it was great that she didn't have to use her cat flap, she could just hop in and out of the open window. She didn't like it much when I went to shut the window and she has been sulking ever since. Boy, can she sulk!

Most of the card challenges that are about at the moment are based on the colour green, not my favourite colour to work with.

Here is today's card:

This little cutie is from Hanglar and Stanglar and I have coloured her using my copics pens. She is mounted on to several layers of of patterned paper and card from my stash. The ribbon is also from my stash and the sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

Another wonky photo!

Good evening Everyone

I am so sorry for mentioning the 'Spring' word in my blog a few days ago. It seems that I may have put the mockers on it as the weather has returned to freezing winter conditions. I will keep my mouth shut in future!!!!! (or try to)

I am still looking for someone to help me in finding the name of this stamp and better still where I can get hold of one.

Here is today's card....just how much pink can you get on one card???

I have used one of the magnolia Tilda images and coloured her using my copics pens. I then mounted it onto pink card (from my stash) that has been cut using an x-cut scalloped rectangle cutting die. The heart shaped border was made using a Martha Stewart border punch and the little tags were created using a very old paper punch (no name on it) All papers, card and ribbon is from my own stash.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly Challenge - 3 (tags) 2 (punched items- tags + heart border) 1 (bow) - 18.3.13

Can anyone help?

Just a very quick call for help.

Does anyone recognise this stamp?

I think it is a House Mouse but I can not find it anywhere. If you know the name of the stamp or better still where I can get one from I would be so grateful.

Thanks

Hayley

........more snow!!

Good evening everyone.

I hope that you are keeping yourselves warm. It is bitterly cold here and typically it has been my playground duty today. The children didnt seem to feel the cold at all, whereas I was wrapped in several layers of scarves, hats and gloves. I have still not thawed out properly.

I did mention that Graham has been sent to Italy for 2 weeks and so I am having to take my own photos of my cards. I hope they are clear enough to see (although a bit wonky!)

Here is todays card:

I think that this image is one of Mo Mannings rubber stamps (if I am wrong can someone let me know so that I can correct the info!) and I used my copics pens to colour him in. All of the papers and card are from my stash. (It's amazing how many shades of green I have) and the candi dots are from Craftwork Cards. I am not sure who the card could be for as it could fit so many different occasions - first day at school, sorry you are leaving, birthday etc.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Sssshhhhh! I think Spring has arrived.

Good Evening Everyone,

I think (not certain) that spring may be on it's way. Yesterday I spotted 2 new lambs in the field. Bless! I didn't see them being born this year but did hear the new-borns letting everyone know that they had arrived.

Here is my card for today:

I don't usually like doing decoupage. I always seem to make such a mess of it and never know whether to use foam pads of silcon gel. A few weeks a go I saw a pack of Forever Friends easter stamps and sheets of decoupage pics. My thoughts were I love the stamps but I will the decoupage away. That was until i got them home. The pre-cut images were so easy to use and I just love the finished project.

I used the decoupage sheets from the Forever Friends Easter Pack and mounted it onto black card and green checked card from my stash. The sentiment was also in the pack. The border of rabbits was made using my Martha Stewart border punch and finished it off using a green gingham bow.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Oozak - Anything Goes (+ spring) - 31.3.13

I've finally done it......

Good evening everyone

Yes I have finally done it ....... I have filled up my copics pens. I have been meaning to to this for ages and I have spent a large part of this afternoon testing and then filling my pens. They feel so much better now.

Graham has been sent to Italy for 2 weeks so I have loads of time to spend in my craft room and hopefully I should get ahead with my cards. Unfortunately he is the one that takes all of my photos so I won't have any new piccies until he comes back home. I do have some cards in reserve and if all else fails, then I will have to take the photos on my tiny, cheap camera and just hope they turn out ok.

Here is today's card:

I have used another one of my older Magnolia Tilda's and coloured her with my copics pens. The patterned border was made from a Marianne's border punch. Candi dots and sentiment are both from craftwork cards and as usual all of the papers and card are from my scrap drawers.

One Stop Challenge - Mothers Day - 8.3.12
Allsorts Challenge - for a lady - 7.3.12
Hobbycutz Challenge - Anything Goes - 16.3.13

Where is Spring hiding?

Good Evening all

Well everyone keeps saying that Spring is on it's way....I thinks it's hiding somewhere because there are no signs of it here.

I have so many aches and pains today that I haven't spent much time in my craft room. Yesterday we had a load of logs delivered for our log burnerand then spent all evening stacking them in the log store. There were millions of them. At least I will be toasty warm while I am waiting for Spring to finally arrive.

Here is today's card:

For this card i used one of my old magnolia stamps. I just love this cutie and should really use her more often as she is so easy to colour. I used my Promarker pens (possibly every shade of green that I own) The ribbon, paper and card are all from my stash and the sentiment is from craftwork cards (I have loads of these that I have had for ages).

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Something Old (stamp, paper, card, ribbon, sentiment) - 6.3.13
Card Makin Mamas - Green - 14.3.13

SirStampalot Sale

Good Evening Everyone

I am just paying a very quick visit to Blogland today to let you know what I have been spending my hard earned money on. SirStampalot are having a sale and I have been busy filling my on-line basket with loads of goodies. I have a really unhealthy passion for 12 x 12 papers (some of you my have read that I have far too many papers to fit in my new storage system that Graham has made me) and Janice and Andy have reduced some great designs. It's one of those things that I NEED! I have also remembered to order some re-inkers for my copics pens. (Finally) Check out what else they have for sale here.

Here is today's card

I am trying to make more 'spring-like' cards in a desperate hope that the weather will take the hint but it seems to be ignoring me at the moment.

The image is another one of my magnolia stamps that I have had for ages and haven't used for a long time. I love the cute little lamb. It reminds me that this time last year I saw my first lamb being born in the field next to my garden. It was amazing!! Graham and I were just leaning on the farmer's fence for hours watching the miracle happen before our eyes. The imahge has been coloured with my promarker pens. The Ribbon, papers and cards are from my stash and the butterflies are Nellie Snellen embossing punches.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Milk and Coffee Challenge - make it cute - 27.2.13
Card makin mamas - Birthday - 28.2.13

Settled????

Good Evening All

The weather forecast this evening has reported that it is now going to be 'Settled' for the next few days???? What does that mean? Does it mean that it is going to get warmer so that the temperature is nearer to what is expected at this time of year OR is it going to remain freezing cold OR is it going to begin snowing again and this is what they mean when they say the word 'Settled'? Whatever they mean it has resulted in me filling the hot water bottles again. Pusskat is enjoying the duvet being on the sofa in the evening. She burrows her self underneath and leaves just her nose peeking out. Ahhhhh! So sweet.

Here is today's card:

I have used lots of scraps for this card - scraps of card, paper, ribbon, odd gems and flowers. The image is a Hanglar and Stanglar and has been coloured using my copic pens.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Hot Water Bottle and Duvet......

Hi Everyone

How can it be so cold and it not be snowing????? It's freezing! After work we have been having a hot bath and then snuggling on the sofa with a hot water bottle and our duvet. It''s been lovely to catch up on all of the films that we have recorded over the past few months. but it's not getting any 'Mother's Day' cards made.

Here is one of the cards that I did manage to make:

I have used one of my old Magnolia stamps and coloured them using Pro Markers pens (my copics are fast running out). I thought that the bright colours of the Promarkers were better for this Easter Card. All of the papers and card were from my personal stash and the little eggs are from a 'House Mouse Designs' set. I have shown the inside of my card too. I always decorate the insides as I feel that it make the card look finished and it's an excuse for not having to think of a sentiment/verse to put in it.

I am entering this card into the following challenges :

Great Impressions - Have a heart - 28.2.13
Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes - 26.2.13
Oldie but a Goodie - Bright Colours - 4.3.13
Sketch Saturday - Sketch - 28.2.13
My Time to craft - Inspired by a Song "chick, chick, chick, chick, chicken, lay a little egg for me" 27.2.13
The Ribbon Girl - Anything Goes (+ Magnolia stamp) 1.3.13

Have a good evening everyone, I'm off to top up my hot water bottle.

More Physio

Another physio session today. I'm sure that the more painful the massage is the more good it is doing. (I am sure that if I continue to say this then I will begin to believe it soon.) I am gradually reducing my tablets and so I do expect my shoulder to be more painful than normal and with the extra exercises that I have been given, then I am definitely beginning to feel it.

Here is today's card:-

The magnolia 'Tilda' has been coloured using copics pens and mounted on various layers of card and patterned paper from my stash. The little sentiment has come from Craftwork Cards and the card has been finished with flowers and gems (also from my stash).

I am entering this card in the following challenges :-

Tuesday Throwdown - Anything Goes - 18.2.13
Card Makin Mamas - Birthday - 28.2.13
Simply Create Too - Mothers day or Female - 28.2.13

What happened to my half term....

Good afternooon everyone

I am a bit worried to be sitting here and it is Sunday afternoon already. What happened to my half term.......and that I will be back at work tomorrow. I live on the border of Devon and Somerset and last week Somerset schools  were on their half term where as Devon schools were still in. I worked all through the week, teaching in various schools in Devon and tomorrow I shall be back to my regular schools in Somerset.

I did manage to finish sorting out my craft room though and I am very pleased with myself. It's amazing what crafting goodies I have found that I have bought and then put away.

I have managed to make a card in my clean and tidy space:

I have used this cute image of a boy on his bike from Hanglar and Stanglar. He has been cloured using copics pens and then mounted on several layers of card and papers from stash drawers (that seem fuller than ever) The sentiment (from Craftwork Cards) and has foam mounted to raise it up so it stands out.

I shall be entering this card into the following challenges.

Charisma Cards - Anything Goes - 20.2.13
Sandy's Crafty Creations - Anything Goes + a twist (Birthdays) - 28.2.13

As good as it gets.....

Good Evening All....

I have just been to the hospital for my latest check up to see how my shoulder is coming alone. I am now able to raise ny arm above my head but not quite straight up and it can move to just over half way up when my arm is at the side. I can't move it at all towards the back. The specialist has said that it is probably as much movement as I can expect to get back. The physiotherapist is working overtime on it and it aches so much when she has finished. I keep complaining about all of the damage that has been caused by the seat belt but when I think about what could have happened if i hadn,t been wearing it. Oooouch!!!!

Here is todays card

It's a gorgeous valentines card using the LOTV image and coloured using copics pens. I used nestabilities to cut out the matts and then layered them onto offcuts of patterned papers and card. Decorative swirls were cut from 'Accents' cartridge for my cricut and the little butterflies were made using my cut and emboss punches. The sentiment was from a stamp from 'Inca Stamps'.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

On the mend....

Good evening Everyone

I have just about recovered from my cold. Although i felt well enough in myself, my head felt as if it belonged to someone else.

we have had a house full this weekend, eith visitors coming and going. It's always nice to see friends and relatives but it seems that we always want to show them the whole area. Normally what we could take a full week to go and see, we try and squeeze it into 2 days. Then we wonder why we feel shattered at the end of it.

i did manage to get a card done and would like to share it with you.

I think this stamp is so sweet and I have coloured it using my copic pens (i must remember to fill these) The swirly accent was cut from 'Accents' cartridge for my Cricut and those darling little punched and embossed butterflies have made their appearance again. Papers, cards and glitter are from my stash.

i will be entering this card into the following challenges:

I am soooo ill......

Good Evening Everyone

I am feeling under the weather today. No sooner do I get rid of the dreaded bug that everyone had over Christmas than I woke up to a sore throat and a runny nose. As the day has gone on i have developed a constant sneeze. it's typical ....just in time for half term.

Here is tdays card :

I am having a bit of change from my usual LOTV image and decided to use a stamp that I have had for ages. This Tilda is so sweet in her pink jeans and pink hat. just how pink can you make a card? The image has been coloured using my copics and I have added some fairy dust to her wings to make them sparkle. The sentiment, which is also very old, is from Inca stamps. (I have tried to find one on the internet so that I can put in a link but can't find one) All of the papers and card that I used for matts are from my stash. The little butterflies (my favourite embellishment at the moment) have been punched and embossed using my nellie snellen punch and emboss set.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Paper crafting Journey - for a girl - 5.2.13
