Music Expert (In my Dreams!!!)

Good evening All

Today will need to be a very quick visit as I still have to sort out my music lesson for tomorrow. It is probably my weakest area. I struggle to find the 'PLAY' button on the CD player so when I was asked to teach the children how to play the ukulale you can imagine my suprise (and alarm!). I am now and expert at how to play a C chord ...... but nothing else (Yet!!)

Here is todays card :)

The image is LOTV. I love this collection and can see me using it lots and lots. I have coloured it using my copics pens and cut it using my nestabilites. All of the matts are made from paper and card from my scrap drawers. I love Pink and Black....It really stands out. The sentiment is a very old stamp that I have and I think it is from INCA crafts. The butterflies have been punched out of scraps of paper and then embossed..

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Inky Impressions - Bingo (Pink, Sentiment, Die & Punch) 4.2.13
Gingerloft - Love is in the air - 7.2.13
Scrap Creations - Valentines - 11.2.13
Creative Card Crew - Girly - 2.2.13
Creative craft challenge 2 - New Beginnings (new life) -

Have a good evening

Bargain Basket

Good Evening All

I have been busy sorting out my background papers and storing them on the unit that Graham has made for me. It's suprising how many of them I have. I went through a stage (as all crafters do) where I had to buy 2 sheets of the same paper - 1 to use and 1 to admire. The problem was that I always ended up admiring more than 2. I have actually discovered 14 sheets of the same paper (but, it is nice).

Whilst sorting out my craft room, I have been trying to find a way of storing my cards that are not needed at the moment. Things like Christmas cards that won't be needed for another 11 months are being stored in a box under my work desk and are now getting in my way. So I have decided to add a Bargain Bucket in my Etsy shop and pop in any cards that are not needed at the moment. Have a look....you just might want to grab yourself a bargain. Items will be added on a regular basis and I combine potage on multiple purchases too.

Here is today's card :-]

Yes...it's another one of those gorgeous LOTV images. It is soooooo cute and shows how innocent life used to be when we were young. It reminds me of my first boyfriend when I was in primary school when we used to sit in the park and pick the daisies from the grass to give to each other. Not that I would ever have looked that neat and tidy. I was more a ripped jeans and t.shirt kind of gal. Ahhhhh! the memories.

The image has been coloured using my copics pens and layered up using several different matts of card and paper from my scrap drawers. The larger butterfly is my latest plaything. It is a paper punch and embossing  set. I think that the effect that the embossing has on the butterfly wings is so delicate and perfect.

I am entering this card in the following challenges :-)

Lili's Little Fairies - Anything Goes (Lilly of the Valley) - 30.1.13
Come and Get it - Bingo (Red, Free, Embossing - Butterfly wings) 1.2.13
Make it Monday - Anything Goes (comment) 2.2.13

Crafty Calendar Challenge - What's new (new stamp/new love) - 1.2.13
love to create- Anything goes + a sentiment - 3.2.13
Pixies Crafty Workshop - Snippet (papers and cards) - 1.3.13
Inky Impressions - Bingo (Red, Sentiment, Punch) - 4.2.13

Out of this world!!!!

My 2nd card for today is for a challenge that I really struggled with. The theme was 'out of this world' and I searched through all of my stamps (millions of them!) to discover that I have no stamps with rocckets/space/planets etc. I then remembered a download that  have had fr a while and decided that maybe this could be used for the challenge. There are 3 individual image of monsters that I have now renamed 'Aliens'.

Here is my card:

I can not remember where the downloads of these little 'Aliens' came from so if anyone recognises them please let me know so that I can put a link there. I have coloured them using my copics pens and grouped them together on top of a candy striped background paper (from my stash). The wording was one that  made on my computer.

I am entering this card in the following competition :-

Cute Card Thursday - Out of this World - 30.1.13

It's sooooo cold.....

Good Evening Everyone.

I have has a terrible day at work. (One of those days when you wish you had stayed in bed!) I am now back home trying to forget about all of the marking and planning that I still have to do. It's freezing and I am wrapped up in my quilt with a hot water bottle. Th weather forecast has predicted lots of rain but there is no more mention of snow. (Thankfully)

This weather has prompted me to show you one of the cards that i made after christmas ready for next year. I am trying to make at least one Christmas card each week so that I do not get 'snowed under' in the rush.

Here are todays cards.

I do not know where these cute image are from but if you recognise them let me know and then I can put in a link. The sentiment are from Craftwork cards and ribbon, paper and card are from my stash. I have adde some glitter to the little piles of snow to make it all glisteny.

I am going to enter these card in the following challenges.

Scrap Creations - Snowman - 28.1.13

Have a good evening and keep warm

Busy...Busy....Busy.....

hi everyone

Have you ever had one of those days when you seem to be rushing around doing loads of stuff and then when you finally stop ypu feel like you have done nothing at all. Well today is one of those days. it began by having a much needed lay in. (about an extra half an hour) I managed to put the washing in, clean out both bathrooms, change the bedding, make some cards, do some shopping, Graham made a 12x12 paper storage unit for me and I have begun to sort out my papers to keep them safe and tidy. It is only now that I have sat down after dinner that I have noticed that I still haven't got dressed. Good job we are not expecting any visitors!!! LOL!!!!

Here is one of my cards

Another stamp that I seem to have had for ages and just never used. it is from Hanglar and Stanglar and shows a boy riding a bicycle. It has been coloured in using my copic pens and then matted onto several layers of card and paper from my scrap drawers. I have used a sentiment from LOTV and then punched it out using a wedgeware circle punch. Blue buttons have been added to finish it off. So cute!!!

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Here come the boys - Bingo (Blue papers - Punch circle- Buttons) 1.2.13

The Great Thaw....

Good Evening Everyone.

It was really strange to go to bed last night with the garden covered with about 4 inches of snow and then to wake up this morning with not a flake in sight. It had rained quite hard during the night and had washed all of the white stuff away. The stream was flowing quite fast and the noise from it frightened Pusskat and so she wouldn't drink from it as she normally does. Instead I had to turn on the tap in the bath and let her drink from there. Why she won't drink from her bowl is beyond me.

There has been one good thing about all of this snow though and that is the extra crafting days that I have had.

Here is today's card:

This little fairy is so cute and easy to colour. She is one of the great stamps from Hanglar and Stanglar. Once again all of the papers and cards are from my scrap drawers (it's amazing how much there is in there!) and finished off with a sentiment and little gems in the shape of hearts. The heart on her tummy has been topped with glossy accents to give it a nice sheen.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

My time to craft - Things with wings - 31.1.13
Card making Mamas - clean and simple - 31.1.13

More snow.....

Good evening all.

I really didn't look forward to driving to work this morning but I was quite suprised at how clear the roads were and when I finally got into Taunton there was hardly any snow at all. It was freezing though and typically it was my playtime duty. There I was wrapped in my hat, scarf and gloves and my great big coat with just my nose and eyes peeping out. Now I am back home and in the warm my nose still feels cold. The forecast for this evening is more snow and quite heavy too. I might just get another crafting day out of it!!!

Here is today's card offering

minus 8 degrees

Good Evening Everyone.

I can't believe that the weather forecast has said that the temperature tonight will be -8 degrees. I am not looking forward to driving to work tomorrow. At least there is no snow forecast.

Graham has been out in the garden taking photos of the snow before it disappears. I can't see this lot disappearing over night!

Enjoy what is left of the weekend and keep safe and warm.

An extra Crafting day

Hello Everyone

I was beginning to wonder why everyone was making such a fuss about the snow when I drew back the curtains.....where had my garden gone???? It had been replace with a massive white carpet. Graham managed to get to work but I set off and after driving at 15 mph and nearly skidding into a ditch twice I gave up and went back home. I phoned work to explain that I wouldn't be able to make it, to be told that they had decided to close the school for the day because it was just too bad. Wayhayyy!!!!!

Here is what I have been doing all day.

Intrepid Explorer

Good Afternoon All

We have had a terrible few days here recently which included havng to call out a search party.

It all began on Sunday afternoon when Graham went into the attic to fit a new loft ladder. Pusskat loves the attic (its full of things that she can climb on) and being with her new hero it must have been like heaven to her. An hour later, ladder installed, Graham packed up his tools and came down stairs and we spent the rest of the afternoon watching some soppy film that was on the tele. He had left open the loft hatch because Pusskat had fallen asleep up there and she would no doubt let us know when she woke up. (She is fantastic at climbing up things but rubbish at getting back down again.)

At 9pm I began to wonder why Pusskat had not called to us to help her out of the attic and so Graham went to investigate. There was no sign of her! We searched the whole house... inside cupboards, under the beds, in the dishwasher, everywhere. We then stared a search outside but because it was so dark it was very difficult to look anywhere properly. It's not unusual for her to go outside but it is unusual for her to be outside for anylength of time. There wasn't much more that we could do and so we spent rather a restless night wondering where she could be.

The next day there was still no sign of her. I wandered up and down the lane so many time during the day, looking in the grass verges to see if I could find anything. The farmers from the surrounding fields looked in their outbuildings and my neighbours looked in their garages and gardens. i phoned up the animal search website, and reported her missing, who then informed all of the vets within a 30 mile area just in case someone found her and took her to the nearest surgery. I also made some 'Missing Cat' posters and when Graham came home from work we spent some time putting up the posters in our lttle village and then into the nearest town. Without any news or sign of her we went back home. It was as if she had just vanished.

There was a message on the answer machine when we got in......my neighbour had found Pusskat in his attic but because she was a little bit destressed he was a bit scared to approach her. Somehow PussKat had found a way of getting from our attic into his and even though we have since been and had a really good look around we still can't work out how she did it. Graham was once again her hero by going and rescuing her from the neighbours attic.

She has spent most of today asleep, totally oblivious to all of the commotion that she had caused over the past few days..... and tonight ..... we have to go and remove all of the 'missing cat' posters from the village.

Thanks for dropping by

Anything goes!!

Good afternoon all

There are so many challenges around at the moment using the theme 'anything goes' which means that I can showcase the many plaques that I have been making. This one is for a little boys bedroom (I don't know any little boys) and I just love how the colours show up clearly.

Photo: I have made another plaque using off cuts of MDF. This one is for a little boys room (I dont know any little boys) and it will appear on my etsy shop soon.

Blogger has not fixed the problem of uploading piccies yet and so I am having to put them on to facebook and then copy them onto my blog. Rather a long way around doing it but I'm getting there.

This plaque was made using off cuts of 9mm MDF, left over paint, words cut using scrap card and my cricut and the image was coloured using my copic pens. String and ribbon was from my stash.

I am entering this projst into the following challenges:

Dream Valley Challenges - Anything Goes 18.1.13

Good morning all

I am having problems uploading piccies at the moment. I tried for ages last night and then gave up expecting everything to be alright this morning. Unfortunately I still can't include pictures in my blog. Will keep trying today and will be back as soon as the glich has been solved.

SuperKat

Good Evening Everyone

Pusskat has been on a bit of an adventure today. She has always been a bit of a climber but has never tackled anything that she hasn't been able to jump down from.....until today. She decided that it might be a good idea to climb up one of the blossom trees in the garden. Unfortunately, once she got up there she found that it wasn't as easy to get down. I always thought it was a bit over-the-top to call the fire brigade to rescue cats that have become stuck up a tree. today I changed my mind. Graham managed to climb up and save her. He is now her hero and has been following him around the house most of the evening. Bless!

PhotoPhoto: She has recovered from her ordeal and is back to looking as gorgeous as ever. Butter wouldn't melt.......

I enjoyed making the plaque so much for my kitchen that I decided to make another for my grandaughters nursery and also one for Graham's shed. I was really pleased with how they turned out. Can you guess which one is which?

This door sign was made from off cuts of 9mm MDF and painted using left over paint (found in the garage). The image and lettering was made using my cricut and scraps of coloured card and string from my stash. I completed it with 3 coats of varnish to make it weather proof.

Mum's Kitchen

Good Evening Everyone

I know that many of you have been back to work today after the Christmas break. I hope it went well. I have been busy taking down and packing away all of the decorations. Everywhere looks really bare now, especially the kitchen where we spent most of our time.

I made a door sign to try  to brighten it up again.

I used 9mm MDF and painted it with a tester pot that I had left over. The image is tilda with a wooden broom and has been coloured in using various copic pens. The lettering has been made by my Cricut and finished off with handing string and decorative ribbon from my stash.

I am entering this into the following challenges
